What is the business support?

FROM 1ST DECEMBER THIS SERVICE CAN NO LONGER ACCEPT NEW APPLICANTS, SUPPORT FOR EXISITING CLIENTS WILL END ON 31ST MARCH 2016.

MAS provides companies, whatever their size, with practical support on all aspects of manufacturing and offers direct access to manufacturing experts with a proven track record.  FREE helpdesk and research service - A quick query service is open to all manufacturers. Experts will be happy to answer questions on a wide range of technical issues or could spend up to 2 hours researching your problem. A Manufacturing Review is free to SMEs - experienced manufacturing advisors will carry out a hands-on assessment and diagnostic of your business that will highlight areas of opportunity or action you can take to improve operational performance. Thereafter, Subsidised Consultancy Support -  up to £1,000 and 50% subsidy towards the cost of an expert to advise on basic improvement projects  or Step-Change – up to £3,000 and 50% subsidy towards more complex projects.  A Consultancy Service is also available to larger companies at current rates.

Restrictions

The Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) can offer subsidised product support to small and medium sized manufacturers (SMEs) whereas larger companies pay the current market rate. You must be a manufacturer based in England to access support.

MAS works closely with a range of organisations to ensure you have access to a full range of business support services to improve the competitiveness of your manufacturing business including; innovation, strategy, operational improvement, supply chain, finance and technology. Also, a signposting and referral service for non-manufacturing queries, such as human resources, legal or environmental issues.

Who runs it?

The MAS service is delivered by the Manufacturing Advisory Consortium (MAC) which includes Pera, Grant Thornton, West Midlands Manufacturing Consortium and South West MAS.
