Lincoln Gains Biggest Grant To Date
Lincoln's city centre has gained the biggest sum of funding ever from the European Regional Development Fund, and will invest it in businessness help and tourism.
Lincoln BIG will be managing the £612,000 in funds from the agency, and have to use it before the end of 2014.
Some of the money will help Lincoln BIG's partners drum up both business and tourist interest in the city. The rest of the money will be spent on better signage around the city, and working with Lincoln Chamber of Commerce to provide business support and training packages to local companies.
Lincoln BIG Chief Executive Matt Corrigan said: “The money, which will support the Revival Lincoln project, comes at a time when Lincoln is growing in prominence as a great shopping and tourist destination."

Recruitment Firm Expand Its Offices
A recruitment firm in Spalding has doubled its office space due to increasing demand for its services.
MRN Recruitment opened in 2010 with just two staff, but now employs 20 people to provide businesses with 300 staff daily, as far away as Hull.
Owner Brendan Moran said: "Recruitment is a fast-paced business and we now have 20 staff working virtually around the clock to meet the needs of our client and temporary workers.
"The new offices allow us to have a dedicated training and induction room for agency staff, which means we can make sure our clients get the right type of staff when their production peaks – at major celebrations such as Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s and Mother’s Day."
