NB - This is an interactive masterclass where participation from delegates is expected and will be delivered using Zoom video conferencing.

 

An introduction to the various technologies used to 3D scan and capture parts, products or places and spaces. We will then explore options and examples of how to create physical or virtual copies, replicas, tooling or new digital assets.

 

Join us at this interactive masterclass and you will gain an understanding of:

 

- The workflow from initial 3D data capture, data?manipulation and the various options to create physical or virtual outputs;

- The different types of 3D data capture recording techniques and applications;

- The benefits of scanning for the built environment, small parts or products;

- Some of the processes available to replicate whole parts or selective features;

- The limitations of scanners, scanning?and digital replication. 

 

About the Presenter – Mike Poole

 

Mike works at the University of Lincoln as the Business Development Manager for the College of Arts and manages the Designblok Technology Hub working with Lincolnshire businesses.

With ten years’ experience working in product design and development Mike has managed the development of many products from concept through to production including, office furniture products, bathroom fixtures, domestic goods and industrial components.

Mike represents a range of creative expertise including design, print, communications, architecture, film, digital media, heritage and the arts and, facilitates access to a range of technologies and facilities that includes; 3D printing, scanning, CAD, virtual reality, film and TV studios, video and audio editing, performance venues and business incubation.

Mike works with a range of businesses, organisations and start-ups to use this expertise and technology to solve problems, find solutions, to try and test ideas, to add value and distinctive identity, to develop new skills, to explore new markets, create connectivity and to produce new and innovative solutions. Mike works to solve practical business problems through to informing longer-term research and development collaborations.

Please note we are only able to offer one place per company to ensure we can support as many businesses as possible. To qualify for this funded support, your business must be a small to medium enterprise (SME) based in Greater Lincolnshire. Apologies, no support intermediaries, public bodies or financial sector businesses.

 

Am I eligible?

The interactive masterclass is available to businesses, partnerships, sole traders, and registered charities, with a trading address located within Greater Lincolnshire (North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire & Lincolnshire).

 

To attend, your business must complete an SME enrolment form in order to check the business’s eligibility against the funding criteria. (The form will be sent to you on completion of an Eventbrite booking - if one has not already been completed and on file).

 

Please note that attendance at Business Lincolnshire events will not preclude eligibility to access grant funding.
