This course will be covering a variety of topics around future proofing, including:

Future proofing your business as much as possible (risk assessments and how to do them)

- Coronavirus / COVID-19 might go on for a long time.

- No certainties of a vaccine or highly effective treatment, perhaps for several years

- What happens if we get another spike (or surge) in cases this autumn / winter - could be equally as bad as current numbers (or even worse)

- Is there a COVID-20 (or 21, 22 etc) waiting in the wings?

- More exposure of human beings to exotic viruses (such as Ebola, SARs, MERS and COVID-19) by human /pig/chicken  interaction with wild species, triggered by environmental pressures

- Issue of vulnerabilities because of climate change /more "active" weather etc

Remote working - triggered by "WFH" edicts from the Govt, with

- Technical issues

- Staffing issues

- Cost reductions

- Legal stuff e.g. we seem to be all basically ignoring GDPR now, (after all the song and dance we went through!) but this needs careful handling

- Keeping safe - both businesses and customers

Shifting to online sales 

- Many have already taken some steps - but what else could we do to protect our trade?

- Easy models of this e.g. Shopify, Amazon etc (HUGE potential growth)

- Taking money remotely

Shift to cashless society accelerated for hygiene reasons 

- e.g. Swedish model, they were already going cashless anyway (Greater than 80% of all retail transactions are cashless now - likely to be 100% by 2023)

- How can businesses get involved and why should they?

- How do you actually do it securely?

- What about people who can't / won't engage?

The "Internet of Things" (IoT), 5G mobiles and onwards.....

- What do we mean by the IoT?

- What is the possible impact on all our lives?

- 5G (minus Huawei /China)  - risk?

What about the High Street?

- If you're a conventional firm based on this - what could you do?

A FREE workshop funded by ERDF Collaboration 4 Growth (C4G project) in collaboration with Lincoln BIG.

This is a FREE workshop for all businesses, however priority will be given to those businesses in the eligible Collaboration 4 Growth areas of West Lindsey, City of Lincoln and North Kesteven.

Only businesses who are both operating and registered within Lincoln, North Kesteven and West Lindsey are eligible to receive up to 12 hours of business support at no cost thanks to the project funding from the European Regional Development Fund.
