an overview of Chinese social media users including how they do business and how they use WeChat

This will be a thought-provoking live and interactive discussion on how the Chinese community use the WeChat app and how you can use it when selling into China. You’ll be able to ask experts how to interact with WeChat, learn about their own WeChat business experiences and find out about the advantages this will bring to your business growth.

The event is aimed towards SMEs who are considering exporting to China but are unsure of how best to enter the ecommerce and social media landscape.

All SMEs are welcome but our target audience is those who are already have some experience of exporting with a turnover in excess of £500k. B2C companies may gain the most advantage from the course but B2B businesses also welcome.

What will attendees gain?

A clear understanding of ecommerce in China and how social media is used in a business context to drive transactions. A full understanding of the payment capabilities and the commercial offering of WeChat as well as potential access to 121 support clinics led by WeChat experts (limited availability).

Understanding WeChat and how to use it effectively is essential for undertaking business in China. WeChat is used almost universally in China as a means of communication, a marketplace, a payment platform, media platform, a translation programme, a travel agency and much more. The Chinese do not use e-mail in general and use WeChat for almost all communications.

Through WeChat’s translation feature anybody in the UK can communicate with anyone in China, irrespective of whether the person in the UK can speak Chinese or not.
