A Business Plan for Funding

Learn what should, and what shouldn’t, be in a Business Plan to be used to support funding applications by attending this two-part workshop.

Event Information

NB - This is an interactive masterclass and we try to recreate an interactive classroom environment, where the sessions are live via the zoom video conferencing platform and all delegates are expected to participate in the discussions. Feedback from other delegates have stated that the interaction and shared learning experience was one of the most valuable parts of the session.

Attend this two part workshop to learn what should, and what shouldn’t, be in a Business Plan to be used to support funding applications – whether for grants, bank loans, business angels or crowd funding.

You will gain an understanding of what the key elements are that your audience will be looking at, and learn how to present these in the best light.

Session 1 – Wednesday 19 May 2021 (14:00-15:30): Will focus on the structure and length of an ideal Business Plan – and what format might be appropriate for your business in your sector (and, no, it doesn’t need to be 64 pages of A4!).

Session 2 – Wednesday 26 May 2021 (14:00-15:30): Will look in more detail at the content of the Plan and how you can create a compelling story.

About the presenter – Russell Copley

Russell has over 25 years experience helping small and medium businesses to secure investment and grow. He has also founded a number of his own businesses (including starting a new venture during lockdown) and invested in several others.

In the last 3 years alone, Russell and his team have:

     - Helped over 150 Lincolnshire SMEs to access grants, loans, investment and funding advice;

     - Delivered 16 workshops and seminars to help businesses become “investment ready”;

     - Directly helped small businesses raise over £3.5m investment from grants, small business loans and business angel investors;

     - Supported a well-known local brand to pitch on TV’s Dragons Den programme.

On behalf of Lincolnshire, Russell chairs the Regional Advisory Board of the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, and so is well connected into a range of business finance sources.

Secure your place

The workshop is fully funded and places are limited so be sure to apply for yours today. When booking you are committing to attend both parts. Confirmation of your place will be sent separately once your eligibility has been checked post receiving your registration.

Please note we are only able to offer one place per company to ensure we can support as many businesses as possible. To qualify for this funded support, your business must be a small to medium enterprise (SME) based in Greater Lincolnshire. Apologies, no support intermediaries, public bodies or financial sector businesses.

Am I eligible?

The workshop is available to businesses, partnerships, sole traders, and registered charities, with a trading address located within Greater Lincolnshire (North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire & Lincolnshire).

To attend, your business must complete an SME enrolment form in order to check the business’s eligibility against the funding criteria. (The form will be sent to you on completion of an Eventbrite booking - if one has not already been completed and on file).

Please note that attendance at Business Lincolnshire events will not preclude eligibility to access grant funding.
