Business Lincolnshire Live – Episode #3 – Staycation Lincolnshire & Rutland: What’s it all about?

With the pandemic bringing restrictions on cross-border travel and quarantine rules, this year’s big vacation trend is the ‘staycation’. Before looking further afield, have you considered the wonderful mix of city, coast and countryside that Lincolnshire and Rutland have to offer, making it a perfect destination for a holiday or day trip?

This live show will showcase the diversity of the counties but with a twist, sharing the stories that really bring Lincolnshire and Rutland to life – leaving you inspired to explore the hidden gems and treasures on our doorstep.

Our storyteller, Mary Powell, Tourism Manager for Lincolnshire County Council, will draw on her wealth of knowledge gained from working in the local visitor economy for over 20 years.

There will also be a panel discussion to understand what people are looking for in their holidays and day trips, assisting businesses within the region’s visitor economy sector to better serve the demand the staycation surge will bring.

The discussion will be led by the Growth Hub Visitor Economy Specialist, Gill Harvey, and she will be joined by:

- Sarah Colbert, Co-ordinator in Travel & Tourism, Boston College

Having spent 10 years working in the travel and tourism industry in the UK and overseas, Sarah decided to move into teaching the topic at Boston College 13 years ago. Sarah is passionate about the industry, from both a domestic and international perspective, and enjoys her role enriching young people's lives about all the different aspects of tourism and the vast number of careers available in the industry.
