Social AR (Augmented Reality) filters and effects are all over social media platforms with some filters reaching millions and even billions of impressions, all with tracked metrics. Interactive experiences have boomed over the last 3 years with x4 longer dwell times than video and easy to share user interface.

This four-part online workshop will help you to get started with creating your own Augmented Reality effect/filter from scratch and posting it onto Instagram / Facebook for the world to experience. We’ll be covering the different types of AR and how you can utilise it for your business.

Session 1 – Wednesday 9 March 2022 (14:00 - 15:30):

What is AR? We will look at the different types of AR and what’s available in Spark AR. We will cover why it’s the future, it’s origin and AR effects/filter trends plus analyse notable case studies.

Session 2 – Wednesday 16 March 2022 (14:00 - 15:30):

We will explore the basics of the SparkAR user interface and the templates available. We will also look at the options for creating the right filter/AR effect for your business.

Session 3 – Wednesday 23 March 2022 (14:00 - 15:30):

Building your first effect together, tips and best practices for building AR experiences. Homework will be set to continue working on your AR effect.

Session 4 – Wednesday 30 March 2022 (14:00 - 15:30):

Review and feedback on AR effect progress collectively, developing the AR effect further, finishing them and how to export/upload them to Instagram & Facebook. SparkAR hub metrics tutorial to see how your filter performs once live.

It is advisable that you have completed the Short Form Video workshop before starting this course or are proficient in producing video content for social media.

 

About the presenter – Christian Venables

Christian has run his own business, CSV Studio Ltd, for the last five years and worked with brands such as Disney, Cartier, Gucci Beauty, Land Rover and Levi’s providing AR (augmented reality) experiences, digital content and Social Media consultancy.

Christian prides himself on clear communication upskilling and helping businesses to communicate with their audiences using the latest technology and trends.

Please note we are only able to offer one place per company to ensure we can support as many businesses as possible. To qualify for this funded support, your business must be a small to medium enterprise (SME) based in Greater Lincolnshire. Apologies, no support intermediaries, public bodies or financial sector businesses.

 

Am I eligible?

The workshop is available to businesses, partnerships, sole traders, and registered charities, with a trading address located within Greater Lincolnshire (North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire & Lincolnshire). 

To attend, your business must complete an SME enrolment form in order to check the business’s eligibility against the funding criteria. (The form will be sent to you on completion of an Eventbrite booking - if one has not already been completed and on file).

Please note that attendance at Business Lincolnshire events will not preclude eligibility to access grant funding.
