Creating the right content for Social Media is key to standing out and getting your business noticed, a very underutilised aspect of this is short form videos. Dividing your video content into smaller 15/30 second snippets provides your audience with an easy way to consume information. Short form videos are meant to be fast, fun and provide creative engaging content. As a brand or business using this medium has the potential to strengthen your online community, help you attract new types of people and see deeper engagement levels.

This four-part online workshop will help you get set up with the tools you’ll need to create your own short form videos, strategise on what to post and how to use/edit existing content you have to fit this eye-catching and engaging format.

Session 1 – Wednesday 4 May 2022 (14:00 - 15:30):

We will cover video editing/creation tools ranging from quick and cheap options to high-end expensive content creation. The content can be published to a number of social media platforms including Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, Pinterest and YouTube. Some of the content creation tools we’ll cover include WIX, Canva and the Adobe Suite.

Session 2 – Wednesday 11 May 2022 (14:00 - 15:30):

We will analyse the notable case studies that demonstrate why short form video is so effective and highlight the different types of content. We’ll cover why it’s the future, it’s origin and short form video trends. We’ll also look at the options for creating the right content for your business.

Session 3 – Wednesday 18 May 2022 (14:00 - 15:30):

We’ll cover what makes good video content and how to create in a 9:16 aspect ratio (portrait) instead of traditional landscape. Comparing advantages and uses of short form video vs feed posts, we’ll also look more in depth at the different types of short form video, advantages of each type and which suit certain businesses.

Session 4 – Wednesday 25 May 2022 (14:00 - 15:30):

The final session we’ll cover how to extract the core messages from your existing content, keeping consistency but allowing the content to be consumed in a short and faster fashion. If you don’t have existing content we will also cover how to shoot video content on your device, tips and tricks on how to create high quality content and to take it into the tools for editing we’ve covered previously.
