Manufacturing Breakfast Event – Manufacturing Metrology

The Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (IfAM) is running a series of monthly breakfast events specifically for the manufacturing sector.

Event Information

The Institute for Advanced Manufacturing (IfAM) is running a series of monthly breakfast events specifically for the manufacturing sector. These events are being held within the state-of-the-art Advanced Manufacturing Building at the University of Nottingham and will also be live streamed for our audience who wish to join us virtually.

Our research enables next-generation surface texture and form measurement solutions for growing advanced manufacturing sectors such as additive manufacturing.  A wide variety of high-precision production applications can be addressed using our information-rich metrology approach.

The Midlands Centre for Data-Driven Metrology is a multi-site collaboration between the University of Nottingham, Loughborough University, and Coventry University.

The centre focuses on delivering industry-relevant research, training and implementation in size, form and surface metrology. Specifically, the industrial application of data-rich metrology is matched to UK manufacturing’s future needs in digital manufacturing.

The Midlands Centre for Data-Driven Metrology will create a pipeline of trained engineers with industry relevant skills to ensure the UK is competitive in digital manufacturing.

This goal will be achieved through the joint expertise of the three universities, providing direct industry support through short and medium-term projects, as well as a Centre for Doctoral Training providing long-term research into key topics, led by industrial partners.

The agenda for the event is as follows:

7:30-8:00 - Arrival & Registration, Refreshments & Breakfast, Networking
8:00-8:30 - Manufacturing Metrology Team - Business Support Projects
8:30-9:00 - Industrial Presenter (TBC)
9:00-9:30 - Networking and Close of Meeting

Free parking is available by the building, although guests will have to leave by 9:15am which is when parking charges commence. There is a Pay & Display car park a short walk from the building for attendees who wish to stay on longer.

This event is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund project Aerospace UP.
