Working with a network of Commonwealth and global partners, this event outlines the emerging opportunities for innovative SMEs, research organisations and NGOs in the Food and Drink sector:
28 July 2022: Day 1 offers an insight into the bold urban food planning policies Birmingham is developing and the opportunities around them followed, in the afternoon, with an opportunity to meet some of Greater Birmingham’s SME ‘Best in Class’ Food and Drink related businesses and representatives from cities from across several Commonwealth countries.
29 July 2022: Day 2 features Trading Sustainably, Identifying Global Partners, Innovation Trends, Food Standards and the secrets to success in Food and Drink exporting.
The Department for International Trade (DIT) is providing a series of engaging sessions targeting UK SMEs with a desire to boost their export capability:
- Meet and hear from government experts, established global export champions and successful food and drink exporters
- Join an in-depth Masterclass on selling food and drink overseas, run by the Food and Drink Exporters Association
Meet with DIT food and drink experts
We are also featuring a session in which UK supply chains and skills might help address major food challenges faced by international markets.
The programme is being developed in partnership with Birmingham City Council in conjunction with the Birmingham Commonwealth Association, The Food Foundation, the Department for International Trade and the Food & Drink Exporters Association (FDEA).
