This breakfast meeting will provide you with an understanding of how to determine the true Employment Status of self-employed contractors and consultants. You will also learn about your duties under the new IR35 legislation and what actions you need to be taking.

 - Understanding Employment Status and the categories of 'employed, self-employed and worker' 

 - Recognising how it differs between employment and tax

 - The Government's Good Work Plan and proposals to change Employment Status

 - The risk many SMEs face in engaging sole trader self-employed who could have 'worker' status and rights to statutory benefits

 - NEW IR35 changes from April 2020 for those engaged as self-employed through their limited companies by bigger SMEs

 - The shift in responsibility for determining employment status from the self-employed limited company consultant to the SME employer and the risks that will be faced

 - What you need to be doing now to address any risks and changes to be made

This breakfast seminar is for SMEs who use self-employed consultants/contractors within their companies, either engaging them as sole traders or limited company consultants/contractors.

Ideal for SME business owners, Finance Managers, HR, Accountants, Bank Managers and Business Advisors.

 

About the presenter

Tony Marsden is the Owner/Director of the HR Dept (NE Lincolnshire). With 20+ years' HR experience working across different business sectors and industries he is now working with SME’s in the local area.
