Exciting new Digital Support Programme announced for Business Lincolnshire

Published on: 08/10/2018

Business Lincolnshire is running a fourth series of digital workshops after a successful and oversubscribed spring programme, which was extended due to the amount of interest received.

The workshops, starting in early November, will be delivered by local business experts at six locations across the county. The workshops are designed to provide small businesses with a foundation knowledge of different aspects of digital business, including Facebook for Business, effective email marketing and GDPR and data security. The programme also offers masterclasses in digital skills, for those businesses requiring a more in-depth course on how they can integrate digital into their business. Businesses will need to book onto two full day workshops to qualify for the free support.

Stuart McFarlane-Bedford, leading digital adviser for Business Lincolnshire, said “With the digital sector being one of the fastest developing sectors in Greater Lincolnshire, it is important that businesses are provided with the fundamental knowledge and guidance to capitalise on this high growth sector, and also to make sure they are not getting left behind using old-fashioned, less efficient ways of working”.

He continued: “There has been a huge demand from businesses for digital skills and knowledge across Lincolnshire, and we have designed this programme based on what businesses want and need. The theme for this series of workshops is ‘connecting businesses with their customer base”.

Councillor Colin Davie, Executive Member for Economic Development at Lincolnshire County Council, said “We want to support small businesses in the county to develop digital skills to put Lincolnshire firmly on the digital map. The digital potential in our county is continuing to increase and we want to make sure our businesses are given the best opportunities for digital growth.”

The digital workshops are available to book onto via the Business Lincolnshire website, with places being allocated on a first come first serve basis. This workshop activity is being delivered thanks to part funding from the European Regional Development Fund.
