Businesses from across the county are invited to discover the exciting and revolutionary developments happening in the manufacturing sector, at this year’s annual Manufacturing Conference taking place at Sleaford Quality Foods premises on 22nd March.  The event, hosted by the Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub and NatWest Bank, promises to be an unmissable insight into the latest technology developments for the sector, including robotic demonstrations, discussions on driving productivity through people and interactive sessions that will offer the audience food for thought in terms of next steps for manufacturing development.

With over 2000 manufacturing and engineering businesses across Greater Lincolnshire generating over £3.97billion and employing some 60,000 members of staff, the manufacturing sector in the county is home to some impressive world class businesses, responsible for supplying products to countries across the globe. With big names such as Siemens being attracted to the area for its potential in manufacturing growth, the legacy for manufacturing businesses is continuing to grow, making it an area of fast development.

The morning will showcase local manufacturing businesses, complemented with guest speakers from across the UK, who will be exploring the latest trends and challenges for the industry, providing advice on trading with Europe post-Brexit and amazing the audience with demonstrations in ground-breaking robotic technology and how it is helping shape the future of manufacturing.

Samantha Harrison, Head of the Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub said “This is an important flagship event which aims to celebrate the existing manufacturing businesses, the developments happening right now, and the potential for growth in the future. We have a fantastic range of manufacturing and engineering businesses across the county which have an important role to play, exporting across the world and we want to take this opportunity to shine a spotlight on their progress as well as their future growth.”

Councillor Colin Davie, Executive Member for Economic Development at Lincolnshire County Council, said “Manufacturing and engineering businesses are a huge part of the local economy for Greater Lincolnshire and we want to make sure we are offering them the opportunity to learn from existing businesses, hear about developments in the industry and even provide information on how they can develop and grow using the latest robotic technology.”

The conference will be free to attend, but places will be limited so early booking is advised. To find out more information or to look at the itinerary of the day, please visit the Business Lincolnshire website or contact the team at events@bizlincolnshire.com
