Team Lincolnshire to promote Lincolnshire in the West

Published on: 20/11/2018

Business people from Greater Lincolnshire will be promoting the area in Birmingham and strengthening links between Lincolnshire and the West Midlands at an event at the end of November.

Steve Hollingworth, Service Director for Sport, Events, Open Space and Wellbeing at Birmingham City Council and a member of the team organising the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, will be the guest speaker at a networking lunch on 29th November hosted by the ambassador programme Team Lincolnshire.

Steve will talk about how Birmingham put together the winning bid for one of the world's most prestigious sporting events and provide an update on what has happened since the bid was won.

Meanwhile Ruth Carver, Director of the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership, will tell guests about the latest investment and development opportunities in Greater Lincolnshire and highlight the progress that has been made so far and opportunities in the pipeline.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming representatives from some major West Midlands businesses to the event, as well as leading figures from the Midlands Engine and the West Midlands Growth Company,” said Ruth.

“Greater Lincolnshire is an integral part of the Midlands Engine and this will be the first event staged by Team Lincolnshire in Birmingham.

“It’s a great opportunity to strengthen links between the West Midlands and the East Midlands, to highlight investment opportunities in Lincolnshire and to introduce members of Team Lincolnshire to businesses in Birmingham.”

Fiona Piercy, Midlands Engine Programme Director, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to champion investment opportunities in Lincolnshire and for relationships to be established between businesses from right across the Midlands.

“It also shows the real benefits of being involved with a great ambassador programme like Team Lincolnshire. The idea originally came from a meeting at the Midlands UK international MIPIM event. It is now really pleasing to see this original idea grow and go from strength to strength.”

The lunch will take place at the Hotel du Vin in Birmingham from 11.30am to 2.30pm on Thursday 29th November.

Team Lincolnshire is an ambassador programme brought together by the public and private sector to champion investment opportunities in Greater Lincolnshire.

Joining the ambassador programme offers a wealth of opportunities and contacts for its members including access to a diverse range of networking events both within the region and beyond.

The Birmingham lunch is free to Team Lincolnshire members, but places are limited to one per business. To book your place email teamlincolnshire@lincolnshire.gov.uk or call 01522 550617.
