The event is a partnership between Visit Lincoln and Stonebow Media, the organisers of the largest B2B exhibition in the region, Lincolnshire Business Expo, and the publishers of The Lincolnite, Lincolnshire Reporter and Lincolnshire Business.
Visit Expo 2018 on Wednesday, March 14 at Lincolnshire Showground will help bring together businesses from across the Greater Lincolnshire region to network, grow connections, inform their business strategy and better educate themselves on the ongoing support mechanisms that are available across 2018/19.
The format of the Visit Expo will be a centralised cafe meeting hub where a leaflet and brochure swap will be facilitated.
There will be a B2B exhibition zone for businesses looking to promote their products and services to the visitor economy industry.
A seminar zone will also be available at the event, where a range of talks and advice sessions will take place throughout the day.
Dean Graham, Business Development and Events Director at Stonebow Media, said: “We’re always looking at ways that we can promote Lincolnshire and help to showcase the county for day visitors and holiday makers.
“The visitor economy industry is enabled by some amazing businesses on a local and regional level; this expo event will help to support and inform them so that together we can continue to be a destination venue in the UK.”
The value of Lincolnshire’s tourism industry has risen by more than £300 million over the last five years, reaching £1.37 billion in 2016.
The Scarborough Tourism Economic Activity Monitor (STEAM) figures show that in 2016 the county attracted some 20 million visitors – almost three million more than it did in 2011.
Lydia Rusling, Head of Visit Lincoln, said: “We are thankful to the support of Stonebow Media and Business Lincolnshire, enabling us to put on this event and ensure the visitor economy is recognised as a thriving sector.
“We want to ensure Greater Lincolnshire’s tourism businesses were valued and informed, whilst showcasing the significant economic impact they generate.”
