C4G - PRESENTATION SKILLS
19/04/2018 - 8.45 am to 4.30 pm - Free to eligible businesses
About the Event
This one-day workshop combines a masterclass with the opportunity to learn how to deliver professional presentations with confidence and to manage nerves.
Delivered by Louise Kerr and her associate Sasha Mitchell from Resonance Voice Training
Lunch and refreshments included
It begins with four pre-prepared presentations of 3 to 5 minutes long, given by four volunteers.
Topics for these speeches can range from a large conference speech to a more informal address to a team or a short speech to deliver at an interview.
What follows is whole group work around four platforms.
Content: Learn through group discussion about structure; how to work to a key message and how to make information memorable through story-telling and with examples. What effect will this have on our audience? We will discuss the value of using PowerPoint slides and how to use them effectively.
Verbal: What do we say and how do we say it? How do we bring our audience onside with the vocabulary we choose? How do our voices contribute to the way our message is received?
Non-verbal: Learn about body language. What does it say about us – how can we change it to be more effective? How does it create impact?
Attitude of mind: positivity and confidence. An audience loves a confident speaker. How can we portray this when we do not always feel it? What are our intentions when we speak? How does our state of mind affect them?
We will spend some of the day developing vocal and physical skills for delivery and developing confidence in our ability to manage our nerves through our breath.
Work will be through group discussion and some will be experiential.
Everyone who attends will get to be involved in the group exercises.
The final part of the workshop will involve small groups reworking the original presentations with new guidelines which will then be re-presented with feedback from all.
This workshop is limited to a maximum of 15 delegates only.
