The Fourth Industrial Revolution: Robotics, Productivity and Skills: Are you Industry 4.0 ready?

28/06/2018 - 12.30 until 16.00 - Free

About the Event

The automation of work and digital disruption of business models delivers competitive advantage. Leaders who can create a vision of change and frame it positively are able to exploit the opportunities that automation and digital technologies offer in order to revolutionise and futureproof their business.

The term Industry 4.0 refers to the combination of several major innovations in digital technology which are coming to maturity right now and which are set to transform the engineering, technology and manufacturing sectors in particular. This change builds on the automation that characterised the Third Industrial Revolution, but goes far beyond. It meshes industrial processes with breakthroughs in advanced technologies such as data management, machine learning and the Internet of Things.

This free event is designed for business leaders from the engineering, manufacturing and technology sectors specifically, but is also open to companies in any sector that are keen to learn new ways of working to improve their business performance. The event will offer delegates greater insight into how Industry 4.0 will impact performance, business growth and skills needs in industry today. There will be talks from industry experts including OAL and RecruitMe, and academic experts from The University of Lincoln’s Lincoln International Business School and National Centre for Food Manufacturing.

The event will share, consider and discuss:

  • HOW prepared are you and your business for an uncertain and surprising future?
  • WHAT does it mean to be human in the context of the future of work?
  • HOW do we build and lead organisations in an Industry 4.0 world?
  • WHAT does firm success look like, how does it occur in South Kesteven today, and how will that change?
  • WHAT do leaders do in this emerging context — mindset, power and authority, collaboration, team?
