Hundreds of companies and entrepreneurs came together to say that North East Lincolnshire is open for business at the biggest business-to-business expo in the borough.
Over 200 delegates from across North East Lincolnshire were welcomed to Business Hive Live, the annual event organised by e-factor's enterprise support club, the Business Hive. The aim of the day was to showcase the variety and calibre of business in the area, providing attendees the opportunity to network and to hear from renowned speakers.
This year's event, which took place at Grimsby Auditorium, was the biggest to date with exhibition stands located in the lobby, main hall, balcony and in the new-for-2017 Tech Lounge located in the bar area.
Jayne O'Flynn, Director of Driver Hire Grimsby and Cleethorpes had an exhibition stand. She said: “The event really gives the town a boost. It's a real pleasure to be a part of the business community, there is so much going on in Grimsby. Thank you to the Business Hive for bringing the community together.”
State-of-the-art logistics training facility, Modal Training exhibited in the new Tech Lounge. Ella Brown, Business Development Manager said: “The event has been great, especially the Tech Lounge which is something different for people to see. Overall it's exciting, very open and a friendly way to do business.”
During the day, delegates could hear from a series of motivational speakers. First up were experts in Big Data, Dan Riley and Andrew Dixon, followed by internationally renowned keynote speaker Geoff Burch. A representative from Google took to the stage to discuss the ever changing digital landscape, and former CEO of Porsche and BMW Kevin Gaskell inspired with his entrepreneurial story.
Closing the day was the Hive's monthly networking event, First Tuesday. For one month only, the event takes place in the Main Hall of Grimsby Auditorium, providing attendees with a further relaxed opportunity to chat and network over good food and refreshments.
Mark Webb, Managing Director of e-factor said: “Business Hive Live really stepped up a gear this year. The Hive team considered the feedback from last year, and we knew we had to take the event to the next level. The staging, the speakers and the quality of stand holders were remarkable.
“We set out to do two things; inspire and inform the business community in the area and showcase some of the best local businesses and organisations we have in North East Lincolnshire. I think the Business Hive Team delivered all that in spades. They are an amazing team and I am looking forward to see what they produce in 2018!”
