Digital Lincolnshire Celebrates 50th Milestone and Explores Region’s Digital Landscape

Published on: 13/12/2023

Business Lincolnshire celebrates a significant milestone as it marks the publication of its 50th sign-up in its Digital Lincolnshire online brochure, which features digital businesses in the Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland region. This achievement, attained almost a year after the launch of its 2023 brochure in October 2022, highlights the thriving digital sector in the area.

With a robust digital industry valued at over £1 billion, Greater Lincolnshire and Rutland are witnessing remarkable growth in digital opportunities. The region hosts a diverse array of digital businesses, and the Digital Lincolnshire initiative is dedicated to nurturing their growth and fostering innovation in this dynamic industry.

The brochure, a central resource for local digital enterprises, provides a platform for showcasing services, promoting collaboration among businesses, and presenting talent to potential customers. In line with the region's commitment to the development of skills and innovation, the Lincolnshire Institute of Technology plays a crucial role, and is one of only 12 such institutes in the UK. The Digital Lincolnshire brochure aligns with this vision, offering local digital enterprises ongoing opportunities to acquire new business, build relationships, and showcase their outstanding work.

Cllr Colin Davie, Executive Councillor for Economy and Place at Lincolnshire County Council, highlighted the advantages of running a digital business in Lincolnshire. He said, "It's great to see the ongoing success of the Digital Lincolnshire brochure and the positive impact it has on promoting our fantastic digital tech businesses within the county. I encourage any business within the digital tech field to feature in the brochure to find and connect with new customers and suppliers right on their doorstep!"

The first fifty digital businesses showcased in the Digital Lincolnshire brochure represent a diverse range of locations across the region, from Gainsborough and Grimsby in the north of the county to Market Deeping and Stamford in the south

Lincoln is becoming a hub for digital and technology businesses, with 58% of featured businesses situated in and around the city. The expansion of spaces like Phase II of Mosaic, Lincoln’s Digital Hub, reflects this trend, catering specifically to digital, creative, and technology enterprises. Notably, Mosaic hosts the Business Lincolnshire Digital Events Programme, offering networking opportunities and skill development. These programmes empower businesses to leverage digital technology effectively for accessing new markets, promoting products and services, and adopting cost-effective work methods. Additionally, they focus on developing digital capabilities in areas such as e-commerce, data and digital strategies, digital marketing, and industrial digital technologies, highlighting Lincoln's commitment to fostering digital innovation.

The brochure highlights the top three digital specialisms: Media and Creative, Marketing and Advertising, and IT Services and Support. These reflect the key digital technologies that SMEs are currently adopting to unlock growth and productivity gains.

Additionally, the latest version of the brochure includes representatives of the Greater Lincolnshire Defence and Security Cluster, one of only three sector clusters in the UK recognised by The Ministry of Defence (MOD) and the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) for bidding opportunities and innovation.
