Join Rutland County Council on Wednesday 19 March, 2025 at The Barnsdale Hotel in Rutland for a day of networking, learning, and engagement with the Council. Whether you're a seasoned industry professional or just starting out with your own small business, this event is perfect for anyone looking to grow their business and connect into a network of like-minded individuals.

The Rutland Business Summit is a premier event providing an excellent opportunity for networking, learning and engagement. Members of Rutland’s business community – from micro/small businesses & start-ups to local industry leaders - are invited to network with one another, attend insightful talks and business coaching classes, and engage with the Council’s dedicated economic development team. The portfolio holder for Economic Development, Councillor Paul Browne, will be in attendance to discuss how the Council can help local businesses flourish.

Highlights will include:

• Update on the Economic Strategy – hear from Rutland County Council on the achievements of the first year of the Economic Strategy and our plans for the future, including how we intend to implement our share of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund
• Levelling Up Rutland – get the latest updates on local Levelling Up initiatives like:
  • the Mobi-Hub (a proposed smarter transport hub for Oakham)
  • a health science centre
  • the Museum’s plans surrounding the breathtaking Ichthyosaur discovered in Rutland Water, Britain’s largest ever Ichthyosaur specimen
• ActionCOACH Business Masterclass on time management
• Opportunities to engage with Council representatives and the Portfolio Holder for Planning, Property, and Economic Development, Cllr Paul Browne.
• Businesses can also learn about working with the Council as a supplier – we will have a talk from Head of Commissioning and Procurement at RCC, Karen Kibblewhite, as the Council is keen to keep its procurement based as locally as possible.
• Updates from our partners in the Universities Partnership – Leicester University, De Montfort University and Lougborough University. Businesses can look forward to learning more about how they can collaborate with our nearby universities and what role they play in the world of business in Rutland.
