Event Information

Does the thought of networking make you feel anxious? Would you like to look and feel more confident in networking situations? If so, join us to discover how to overcome feelings of uncertainty and better equip yourself with the skills to turn awkward first meetings into the start of valuable relationships. 

This participative workshop is aimed at business people who are new to networking, or those who network regularly without getting the returns they expected. It will cover all aspects of networking, including:-

- How to prepare before attending events 

- How to approach people, break the ice and maintain a conversation

- How to work the room and make sure your time is spent effectively

- How to move on from other networkers without causing offence

- How to structure and deliver a memorable pitch

- How and when to follow up with fellow networkers after the event

- How to measure and evaluate your networking activity

At the end of the morning, there will be an opportunity for you to practice your skills and demonstrate what you have learned in two real networking sessions. 

Our facilitator, Mike Stokes, has been running business networking events in Lincolnshire for over ten years and is well known for the innovative formats he has introduced. He knows what works for networkers – and what doesn’t. During this workshop he will be sharing a number of practical networking tips and techniques which will ensure that your future networking events are effective and worthwhile.

Please note we are only able to offer up to 2 places per company. To qualify for this funded support, your business must be a small to medium enterprise (SME) based in Greater Lincolnshire. Apologies, no support intermediaries or public bodies. 

Am I eligible?

The event is available to businesses, partnerships, sole traders, and registered charities, with a trading address located within Greater Lincolnshire (North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire & Lincolnshire).

To access this event, your business must complete an SME enrolment form in order to check the business’s eligibility against the funding criteria. (The form will be sent to you on completion of an Eventbrite booking - if one has not already been completed and on file).
