What does the business do?

Streets Heaver is a leading provider of private healthcare software based in Lincoln. Their hospital management software, called Compucare, brings a medical provider’s staff, patients, information and applications together electronically, ensuring that the patient’s wellbeing is kept at the forefront. Their clients are predominantly private healthcare providers, including King Edward VII’s Hospital, best-known for treating the Royal family.

What’s the history?

Founded in 1986, Streets Heaver was a managing consultancy business, partially owned by Streets Charted Accountants. While contracted to find healthcare software for Bromhead Hospital (now BMI The Lincoln Hospital), founder Paul Heaver discovered that there was only one supplier available and it was out of his client’s budget. Realising there was a gap in the market, Paul created his patented healthcare software and began selling it to medical providers. 30 years later, Streets Heaver are wholly owned by the Heaver family (although they retained the name) and have clients all over the world, including Africa and Europe.

How have Business Lincolnshire helped?

After meeting at the Lincolnshire Business Expo, Business Lincolnshire’s Scale Up Support programme helped Streets Heaver to find a range of useful courses to help grow their business, such as Train the Trainer and the Lincoln International Business School’s (LIBs) Mentoring programme, as well as technology, marketing and PR courses. They also directed Streets Heaver to national offers, which they used to pay for the training. Completing these courses has accelerated the business’s growth, and their team has grown from 40 members of staff to 53 in the last 12 months.

Business Lincolnshire also put Streets Heaver in touch with the University of Lincoln’s Innovation Programme. Streets Heaver has since built a relationship with the University, which has led to the development of the upcoming Streets Heaver Leadership Programme. The business has set up a Senior Leadership Team, with team members undertaking useful courses at the University.

What’s next?

Streets Heaver hopes to continue expanding over the next five years. Part of that includes employing more staff and further developing the leadership programme, while enhancing their current employees’ skills and abilities along the way.
