Peer Networks Programme for visitor economy businesses

Published on: 26/11/2020

We have commissioned Visit Lincoln to deliver a new and exciting peer-to-peer networking programme for SME leaders within tourism that want to grow and develop their organisation for future success.

The national scheme, delivered locally by us, will create diverse cohort groups of individuals to collaboratively work through common business issues. Through interactive action learning the Peer Networks Programme enables SME leaders to discuss their own challenges, gain and reflect on valuable feedback and implement practical solutions to overcome them.

Visit Lincoln will deliver a series of three bespoke cohorts aimed specifically at the visitor economy, up to the end of March 2021. Each cohort will receive eighteen hours of online support plus nine action learning specialist sessions and over three hours of expert one to one support. Key topics will include finance, HR, sales and marketing.

Peer Networks is designed for business leaders who want to grow and develop their organisation for future success. The programme will be delivered by two of the UK's leading motivational and leadership coaches - Hil Gibb and Craig Collinson.

Charlotte Goy, CEO of Visit Lincoln explains: "We are really pleased to be commissioned by Business Lincolnshire to deliver this support scheme for businesses in Greater Lincolnshire’s tourism and hospitality sector. 2020 has been a difficult time for all businesses, but the tourism sector has been one of the hardest-hit, having faced a multitude of challenges.

"The Peer Networks programme provides a trusted network which will help business owners discuss, understand and find coping mechanism and solutions to these challenges. All sessions will be led by our active learning coaches Hil and Craig – they are exceptional coaches and I am delighted to be working with them. Everyone who joins in will learn how to improve their overall personal and business performance.

She now works with a wide range of individuals and teams, in both the public and private sectors, that are facing significant challenges or wishing to improve their efficiency, effectiveness and impact. Hil is an Achievement Coach, a trainer and facilitator and a Business Growth Accelerator Coach and Trainer for PERA.

Craig Collinson has been a professional leadership and communication trainer for over twenty years. The Peer Networks Programme is available to all SMEs that have at least five employees, have operated for over one year, and have a turnover of more than £100,000. They should also possess a desire to take their business to the next level, along with the motivation to seize opportunities as well as overcome challenges.

It is envisaged that the Peer Networks Programme will provide the visitor economy sector with specific insight, info, guidance and support from Visit Lincoln's contacts in the industry including Visit England.
