What is the Business Support?

Made Smarter East Midlands Digital experts will provide advice and support to manufacturing businesses on how to switch to advanced and automated technologies. The programme provides digital transformation road mapping, leadership development, grant funding and access to industrial digital technology expertise to help with implementation until 31st March 2027.

Made Smarter Digital Transformation Specialists engage with each eligible business to understand how Made Smarter can support their digitalisation journey. Made Smarter East Midlands offers the following support to the region’s Manufacturing SMEs

• Grant funding to support CAPEX and revenue projects
• Digital Road Mapping – Creating a 3-5 year digitalisation journey for your business and an initial implementation plan detailing immediate next steps to get you on your digitalisation journey.
• Access to fully funded Industrial Digital Technology Advice (IDTA) intensive support
• Building leadership skills to equip leaders in “Leading Digital Transformation” for their business.

If you’d like to find out about what funding may be available to your business, register now and an adviser will be in touch. They’ll work with you to understand your business and identify where technology can make the most impact and what type of technology is right for your business needs.

Since its launch, the East Midlands Made Smarter Programme has only been open to SME Manufacturers in Leicestershire, Greater Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire with headcounts between 10 and 249 people. With immediate effect the programme will now accepting expressions of interest from micro sized manufacturers with headcounts one to nine.

Made Smarter East Midlands now offers the following support to the region’s Mirco Manufacturing Businesses (those with 9 or less staff)

• Digital Road Mapping – A lighter touch road map is available to Micro businesses, which will set out a Digital Implementation Plan.
• Access to 10 hours of fully funded Industrial Digital Technology Advice (IDTA)
• Grant funding to support CAPEX and revenue projects.

 

Restrictions

Made Smarter Adoption is open to small and medium sized manufacturing and engineering businesses who have manufacturing premises in Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

Who runs it?

The East Midlands Made Smarter Programme is delivered through a collaboration between Greater Lincolnshire, D2N2 and Leicester & Leicestershire Local Enterprise Partnerships and the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
