What is the grant available for?

The grant is available for projects that fall within the People & Skills, Support Local Businesses and Communities & Place priorities for which funding is available for year 3 of UK Shared Prosperity Funding (1st April 2024 to 31st March 2025). 

Any eligibility criteria

All projects must be within South Kesteven.

Applications will be considered on the basis of fulfilling a local need, sustainability of project, deliverability within the proposed time scales and value for money.

What grant amounts are available?

Communities & Place

  • E1: Improvements to town centres and high streets - £320,000
  • E7; Support for active travel enhancements in local area - £200,000
  • E14: Relevant feasibility studies for Communities & Place - £235,000

Supporting Local Business

  • E17: Development and promotion of visitor economy within South Kesteven - £250,000
  • E18: Supporting Made Smarter Adoption to enable manufacturing SMEs to adopt industrial digital technology solutions including artificial intelligence; robotics and autonomous systems; additive manufacturing; virtual reality etc. - £20,000
  • E19: Investment in research and development at the local level to support the diffusion of innovation knowledge and activities, commercialisation of ideas and encouraging collaboration and accelerating the path to market so that more ideas translate into industrial and commercial practices - £20,000
  • E20: Research & Development Grants supporting innovative product & service development - £30,000
  • E22: Enterprise infrastructure and employment and innovation site development projects. - £80,000
  • E26: Growing the local social economy - £36,667
  • E31: Support relevant feasibility studies for supporting local business - £137,050

People & Skills

  • E33: Employment support for economically inactive people - £25,000
  • E34: Courses including basic, life and career skills - £25,000
  • E36: Increase levels of digital inclusion, essential digital skills - £25,000
  • E37: Tailored support for the employed to access courses - £25,000
  • E41: Funding to support local digital skills - £25,000

Who provides the grant?

South Kesteven District Council, funded from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

How to apply for the grant?

Applications will be considered by both the Shared Prosperity Fund Board and the Local Economic Forum sub-groups. If funds are remaining after February's Shared Prosperity Fund Board meeting, they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. 

The Shared Prosperity Fund Board will be meeting on the following dates:

  • Monday, 19th February 2024 – cut off date for applications 9am Monday, 22nd January 2024
  • Monday, 11th March 2024 – cut off date for applications 9am Monday, 12th February 2024
  • Monday 13th May 2024 – cut off date for applications 9am Monday, 15th April 2024
