What is the Business Support?

The Midlands Net Zero Hub works with large corporates, small-medium enterprises, and the public sector to help them decarbonise.

What is the Midlands Net Zero Hub?

The Midlands Net Zero Hub works with a wide range of organisations from across the Midlands to identify and develop local strategies and projects that support the net zero agenda.

The aim of the Midlands Net Zero Hub is to help public and private sector organisations to develop and finance local projects, supporting our partners to decarbonise the region.

Funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero to support the Clean Growth Strategy and the Ten Point Plan, the Midlands Net Zero Hub assists Local Enterprise Partnerships and local authorities to:

  • Increase the number, quality, and scale of net zero projects delivered in the region
  • Raise local awareness of the benefits of and opportunities for local decarbonisation projects
  • Enable local areas to attract private and public finance for their projects

The Midlands Net Zero Hub works across a broad range of areas of the sustainability agenda, including domestic retrofit, public sector decarbonisation, skills training, and community energy.

Project Support

The Midlands Net Zero Hub supports projects through the development stages, from options appraisal and feasibility, business case, design and planning through to financing.

Project support is allocated to selected schemes that best meet the aims of the programme. The Hub would expect projects to:

  • involve public or community sector organisations;
  • align with the Local Enterprise Partnerships’ energy and/or net zero strategies;
  • have the potential to be scalable and/or replicable or form an aggregation of smaller projects into larger programmes;
  • demonstrate clear benefits such as emissions reduction, renewable energy generation, energy cost savings;
  • address common market failures such as unlocking economic development opportunities.

The Investment information on the Greater Lincolnshire LEP website provides an overview of the range of financing opportunities available.
