Customs formalities are a major part of international trade i.e. all goods that leave, enter or transit through a country are subject to customs clearance procedures. The UK leaves the EU Customs Union at the end of the year, and Customs requirements for businesses trading with EU member states will increase significantly from the 1st January 2021.
