This two part workshop will focus on the key elements of a successful grant application.  It will look at what funders look for and is presented both through the eyes of the funder (Russell Copley, our presenter, has sat on a number of business grant panels and his business has the contract to manage the Greater Lincolnshire Growth Fund) and also with the benefit of several years of successful experience in bidding for grants (both for his own business but, most commonly, drafting winning applications for clients).

Part One – Tuesday 10 November (14:00-15:30): Will discuss the principles of successful grant applications (the first of which – spoiler alert – is “read the question”?).

Part Two – Tuesday 17 November (14:00-15:30): Will delve deeper into the questions within typical applications and will use a fictional case study funding application to highlight key learning points.

NB: Please note this is a two part interactive webinar and will be delivered via Zoom video conferencing.

About the presenter – Russell Copley

Russell has over 25 years experience helping small and medium businesses to secure investment and grow.  He has also founded a number of his own businesses (including starting a new venture during lockdown) and invested in several others.

In the last 3 years alone, Russell and his team have:

-        Helped over 150 Lincolnshire SMEs to access grants, loans, investment and funding advice;

-        Delivered 16 workshops and seminars to help businesses become “investment ready”;

-        Directly helped small businesses raise over £3.5m investment from grants, small business loans and business angel investors;

-        Supported a well-known local brand to pitch on TV’s Dragons Den programme.

On behalf of Lincolnshire, Russell chairs the Regional Advisory Board of the Midlands Engine Investment Fund, and so is well connected into a range of business finance sources.

Secure your place

The workshop is fully funded and places are limited so be sure to apply for yours today. When booking you are committing to attend both parts. Confirmation of your place will be sent separately once your eligibility has been checked post receiving your application.

Please note we are only able to offer one place per company to ensure we can support as many businesses as possible. To qualify for this funded support, your business must be a small to medium enterprise (SME) based in Greater Lincolnshire. Apologies, no support intermediaries, public bodies or financial sector businesses.

Am I eligible?

The workshop is available to businesses, partnerships, sole traders, and registered charities, with a trading address located within Greater Lincolnshire (North Lincolnshire, North East Lincolnshire & Lincolnshire).

To attend, your business must complete an SME enrolment form in order to check the business’s eligibility against the funding criteria. (The form will be sent to you on completion of an Eventbrite booking - if one has not already been completed and on file).

Please note that attendance at Business Lincolnshire events will not preclude eligibility to access grant funding.
