Event Information
The Bacchus Hotel in Sutton-on-Sea aims to be the first UK net-zero hotel, exporting more energy to the Grid than it imports. After becoming increasingly concerned by climate change and how it might affect his local community, owner David Smith wanted to ensure his business was ahead of the curve when it came to going green. Over the last three years, he has invested in ground-source heat pumps, solar panels and battery storage that are expected to reduce his gas and electricity consumption by a huge 65% and 60% respectively. This has helped him save money and future-proof his business while also reducing the environmental impact of his hotel.
David aspires to become a centre of excellence for renewables by educating and engaging with local businesses about the digitalisation of the electricity network. Join us on the 7th July at the Bacchus Hotel Energy Efficiency event to hear about David’s experience firsthand, as well as having the opportunity to have a guided tour around the hotel. There will also be talks and exhibition stands from local suppliers who can advise you on how to make your premises more energy efficient, reduce your energy costs and help you move your business towards becoming net carbon zero.
