What is the grant available for?
The main purpose of the grant scheme is to enhance the local cycling infrastructure to support the delivery of the Cycle England project.
The grant scheme will have three main priority areas:
- Increase E bike hire availability and facilities.
- Improving cycling facilities and infrastructure.
- Signage of routes.
Percentage of project cost
Businesses can request up to 50% grants of the total project cost. Within the application you will need to provide evidence of the total costs of the project and how you will fund the remaining 50%. Applicants that show a higher levels of match funding will be looked on more favourably.
Any eligibility criteria
The Cycle England Grant Fund is a de minimis aid opportunity designed to support tourism-related businesses in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire in taking a leading role in enhancing the offer and facilities for cycling visitors from overseas. If any applicant has already exceeded its EUR 200,000 de minimis state aid allowance over the past three years, then they are ineligible to apply.
We will fund individuals, businesses, charities and other organisations that wish to enhance the cycling offer in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
Organisations do not need to be based within both counties as long as the criteria above can be met and that you can demonstrate clear links to the cycling offer in Lincolnshire and Yorkshire.
What grant amounts are available?
£100,000 of the Cycle England funding has been made available for grants. Funding is limited and will be awarded on a first come first serve basis. A maximum of £15,000 is available per grant application.
