The Greater Lincolnshire Pub Development Programme

What is the Greater Lincolnshire Pub Development Programme?

Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19, which has forced the hospitality industry to shut pubs across the UK, we partnered with the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to produce a development guide for pubs across the county.

In the countryside, pubs have traditionally been the heart of the community and still play a vital part in rural life. However, the last decade has seen a rapid decline in the number of pubs, with many in rural areas struggling to survive. Our Pub Development Programme hopes to encourage pubs to diversify their premises and offer accommodation, which could not only grow their business but also support Lincolnshire’s visitor economy.

The past few months have been a challenging time for pubs. As we ease out of lockdown, we hope our guide, as well as support from our Growth Hub advisors, will help Lincolnshire’s pubs to not only get back on their feet, but become more successful than ever.

An expected increase in domestic tourism - the result of people choosing to holiday in the UK during COVID – could help many businesses to thrive, and pubs can make the most of this opportunity by adding or upgrading their accommodation.
