Published on: 06/07/2023

As the summer months unfold, Lincolnshire is bustling with exciting opportunities for community enhancement and business growth. Among many on offer, here are the three featured grants that are making waves this July, providing financial support and resources for various endeavours.

Whether you're a business owner looking to expand your reach or a preservation enthusiast passionate about restoring historic buildings, these grants offer a chance to turn your aspirations into reality.

Grant 1: Sleaford Shopfront Grant Scheme

The Sleaford Shopfront Grant Scheme aims to enhance Sleaford's conservation area by funding repairs, reinstatements, and replacements of shopfronts and other elements of historic properties.

This grant focuses on restoring lost features, particularly traditional shop fronts. It covers repairs and replacements of windows, doors, roofs, rainwater goods, and external walls, as well as cleaning, masonry repair, repainting, and shopfront facias. With a fund of £150,000 available, grants can cover up to 90% of the total cost of works. This grant supports both residential and commercial buildings, help ranging from £1,200 to £3,000. The scheme aims to promote the sympathetic repair of historic structures across the district.

Eligible works for grant assistance include repairing, restoring, or reinstating original windows, doors, brickwork, stonework, chimneys, and traditional boundary walls, railings, and steps. The grant covers 80% of the total cost for Listed Buildings (up to £3,000), 60% for buildings in Conservation Areas (up to £1,800), and 50% for properties on the Council's 'local list' of non-designated heritage assets or meeting inclusion criteria (up to £1,200).
