Multiply Your Business Potential and Discover Grant Funding for Numeracy Development

Published on: 04/12/2023

In a bid to strengthen numeracy skills across local businesses and community groups, the Lincolnshire Multiply Champions scheme is now accepting applications for its second year. This initiative, supported by the UK government-funded Multiply programme, offers a unique opportunity for organisations (5+ employees) and community groups to become Lincolnshire Multiply Champions, fostering numeracy development in their workforces and the wider community.

What is the Lincolnshire Multiply Champions Scheme?

The Lincolnshire Multiply Champions Scheme is a pivotal part of the UK government's three-year Multiply programme, designed to enhance the numeracy skills of adults aged 19 and above. The scheme provides access to free personal tutoring, digital training, and flexible courses tailored to individuals' lives, needs, and industries.

Benefits of Becoming a Lincolnshire Multiply Champion:

Organisations or groups that become Lincolnshire Multiply Champions will not only contribute to the enhancement of maths skills but also receive a £1,000 grant per Champion. This grant aims to support numeracy development initiatives, making a tangible impact on personal wellbeing and business growth.

What Makes a Lincolnshire Multiply Champion?

A Lincolnshire Multiply Champion is an organisation or group that acknowledges the significance of maths in both the workplace and everyday life. These champions are committed to encouraging and supporting numeracy development within their sphere of influence, whether it's within the workplace or the broader community.

How Can the Grant Be Utilised?

The grant provided to Lincolnshire Multiply Champions offers flexibility in its usage. Some potential uses include:

  1. Allocating staff or volunteer time to understand and address maths skill levels or barriers and encouraging progression.
  2. Identifying and piloting innovative approaches, such as establishing a lunchtime learning club or family learning initiatives.
  3. Supporting the uptake of the fully funded Multiply provision available across Lincolnshire.
  4. Participating in the Lincolnshire Multiply Champion Network to collaborate and share best practices.

Application Details

Eligible applications that meet the minimum criteria will be awarded the grant on a 'first-come, first-served' basis. Organisations and community groups interested in becoming Lincolnshire Multiply Champions can access the application form on the Multiply Champions Grant page
