What is the Business Support?
If your company is growing at a pace that is hard to manage, then our new, exclusive Scale-Up Service could be the ideal solution. One of the ways of achieving leadership excellence is through high quality business mentoring and peer support where business leaders have the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others and discuss challenges with their peers.
As a strategic partner with the Business Lincolnshire Sustainable Business Growth Programme, the University of Lincoln is able to offer eligible organisations, a series of one-to-one mentoring meetings and facilitated peer discussions. Delegates will be able to support one another through making the difficult decisions, point out ways of improving your business, ask the tough questions and motivate you to want to achieve higher levels of performance, all within the bounds of a trusted relationship.
Mentors will be experienced business leaders who have themselves experienced leading a business through high growth. They will provide friendly, unbiased support and guidance and an outside perspective on the mentee and his/her business. Mentors will provide honest and constructive feedback, sharing their own experiences of both failures and successes.
Part funded by the European Regional Development Fund this programme provides funding for 48 individual businesses/organisations to participate between June 2019 and May 2022. The programme will commence twice a year in October and March, with 12 spaces on each cohort.
• A preparation workshop – to prepare your aims and objectives during the mentoring experience where you will also meet the mentors
• One-to-one mentoring: six x individual sessions with your mentor
• Peer Meetings: two x half-day meetings with your group and your mentor
• 1 x end of programme workshop for all mentors and mentees
The programme commences twice a year, in the October and March, and lasts approximately nine months. Each programme commences with a workshop at the University of Lincoln where you will meet the other people in the programme, and the mentors. This workshop will help prepare you for mentoring, with guidance on identifying how to get the best out of your mentor-mentee relationship. You will have the opportunity to meet each mentor and identify which mentors you would benefit from working with most. Following this workshop, you will be allocated to a mentor group and be able to arrange your one-to-one meetings with your mentor and be given the dates for your group meetings which have already been scheduled.
The programme will end with a final workshop for all mentees and a celebration. (Please note that mentees must be able to attend all sessions in order to secure a place).
Please contact the University of Lincoln for specific dates for each programme and information on how to register your interest.
