What is the grant available for?
Young entrepreneurs in the UK can apply for financial support to help start or expand their businesses. The Young Entrepreneur Fund is run by Simply Business in partnership with Hatch Enterprise and provides both funding and tailored business assistance.
Grants of £5,000 are available through the initiative. In addition to financial support, successful applicants will take part in six weeks of business development support delivered by Hatch Enterprise. This aims to help young entrepreneurs address the challenges of launching or growing a venture.
The programme is open to individuals aged between 18 and 30 who are resident in the UK. Applicants must either have a business idea they wish to pursue or already be running a business that is trading.
Funding is intended to be flexible and can be used to support a wide range of business costs, depending on the needs of the applicant. The programme is designed to strengthen the long-term viability of businesses led by young people and improve their capacity to operate and grow.
The Deadline for this grant is midnight 9th October 2025.
Any eligibility criteria
Applicants must explain in their application:
- Why should you win this prize (500 words max.)
- How would you use the grant and business support programme to grow your business? (250 words max.)
Entries will be judged on:
- The unique value of your product or service.
- Whether the business is viable.
- Whether you can prove a demand for the business.
- Ambitions and plans for growth.
- Any evidence of innovation or impact.
