Race to Zero

< Back to Net Zero and the Green Agenda

Race to Zero is a global campaign that aims to spur leadership into action and rally support from businesses, cities, regions and investors for a zero-carbon recovery. The campaign is led by the High-Level Climate Champions for Climate Action and aims to build momentum towards a decarbonised economy in the run-up to COP26.

Reaching net zero not only prevents future environmental threats, but also creates new jobs and unlocks inclusive, sustainable growth. By mobilising a coalition of leading net zero initiatives, the project brings together 733 cities, 31 regions, 3,067 businesses, 173 of the biggest investors and 622 higher education institutions to create real change and reach net zero by 2050. 120 countries are taking part in what is the world’s largest-ever net zero initiative, covering 25% global CO2 emissions.
