Burton Waters Marina launches three new post-lockdown experiences

Published on: 31/03/2021

Burton Waters Marina is launching three new experiences, and to celebrate, teamed up with The Lincolnite to offer readers the chance to win a one-day sailing experience!

The three new self-drive boat hire experiences, near Lincoln, will be available for locals and tourists to book once the guidance allows. These full-day hires allow people to travel further afield and are priced at £150 a day.

The Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub is assisting Burton Waters to grow their business as part of their Scale Up Support scheme, providing adviser support to help them diversify their business and grasp new opportunities.

The competition involved readers suggesting names for the family business’s new boats, with over 300 suggestions being put forward as part of the contest. The winners were chosen by owners Adam and Pippa Cox, who founded the business – then known as Lincoln Marina – in 1988.

The winning titles were “The Imp” and the “The Dambuster,” which were suggested by Andrius Juskevicius and Gwyn Smith, who were each rewarded with a day hire in the boat they named.

The new boats can fit up to six people and feature an on-board toilet and a roof that opens up to allow for optimal sight-seeing while travelling. Burton Waters also offers canoes for hire, as well as an overnight stay in a half a million-pound Sealine S450 Yacht, with prices starting at £200 a night.
