The Greater Lincolnshire Social Economy Academy offers a blend of practical and academic online masterclasses, delivered by a range of academics from Bishop Grosseteste University. These will include sessions on organisational development as well as opportunities for professional development in a range of subjects relevant to the sector.
The Social Economy Academy will also provide regular face-to-face events to support the development of peer support networks, and co-host an annual Funders Fair with Lincolnshire Community & Voluntary Partnership (LCVP) in late Autumn.
Sessions are aimed at Charities, Community Groups, Social Enterprises and businesses with a clear social or environmental mission. They are free to attend. Once a business enrolment form is completed and the eligibility checks are made, your staff / members / volunteers / Trustees / Board members can sign up for sessions that are relevant to their job roles / personal development.

Building Connections Training Workshop

Civil Society Consulting has launched a national grassroots movement called Steps to Togetherness, which is all about building connections within and between communities, centred around a ‘manual’ of 32 practical actions we can all take to build connections and reduce social isolation. As part of this, CSC has been delivering Building Connections Training - a learning programme originally commissioned by the Campaign to End Loneliness.
This event provides a unique opportunity for VCFSEs in Greater Lincolnshire to take part in the shaping of Civil Society Consulting’s course along with experts in the field of solitude from the International Society for Research on Solitude.

Increasing Awareness of Common Mental Health Conditions
Friday, 15th August 1pm - 3pm Online (Microsoft Teams)
This event aims to enhance understanding of prevalent mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, and other common mental conditions. It explores the prevalence of mental health conditions, as well as how to spot the symptoms of common mental health conditions, available support, and offers some options for interaction and engagement. Designed for a wide range of people including educators, professionals, and community advocates, this session fosters awareness, reduces stigma, and promotes early intervention strategies to create a more supportive environment (with direct links to working environments) for mental wellbeing.
This session is aimed at anyone interested in understanding more about common mental health conditions, although the workshop will have a section discussing how common mental health conditions impact employers.

GLSEA Networking and Peer-to-peer support session
Wednesday, 17th September 9:30am – 11:30am | Enterprise Village, Prince Albert Gardens, Grimsby.
This session will include networking and peer-to-peer support opportunities plus a mini-workshop on Burnout and how to avoid it.
The mini-workshop will be delivered by Kay Purle, Head of LORIC and KTPs at Bishop Grosseteste University, who has a background in psychology and guidance, and a master’s degree in Mental Health & Wellbeing.
Primarily aimed at Staff, Volunteers, Trustees and Board members of Voluntary, Community, Faith, Social Enterprise (VCFSE) organisations, we also welcome purpose driven organisations with a clear social or environmental mission.
