Businesses in Greater Lincolnshire are encouraged to explore a new tender opportunity to support the development of clean energy technologies.
STEP (Spherical Tokamak for Energy Production) is looking for a suitable supplier, either a single organisation or a consortium led by a main supplier, to deliver a professional services contract focused on global supply chain analysis and the exploitation of economic value from STEP technologies.

STEP is the UK’s major technology and infrastructure programme to build a prototype fusion powerplant. This first of its kind, world leading programme is taking shape at the old West Burton power station site a stone’s throw from Lincolnshire’s border. A whole new fusion industry ecosystem will be needed to support the development which will offer many opportunities for local suppliers over time.
This is an Open Tender, and there is potential for suppliers in our region to play a role in this nationally significant project.
The work will involve analysing the global supply chain for STEP-related technologies and identifying where economic value can be generated for the UK. This will support the creation of a long-term strategy for how the UK can develop and sustain capability in this emerging sector.
The team behind the project is keen to see interest from local businesses. If you're interested, you can register and respond to the opportunity through the Delta eSourcing portal.
