The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has released new materials and toolkits to help business leaders better understand the energy bill support available to them.
These new materials explain what the Energy Bill Relief Scheme (EBSS) can do to assist businesses and public sector organisations with rising energy costs.
Electricity suppliers will deliver the EBSS automatically over six months from October 2022 - consumers do not need to apply for the discount. They do not need to register or share any details with anyone.
The government urges consumers to stay alert of potential scams and report them to the authorities where they are suspected.
If individuals receive a message that asks for their bank details or to click on a link, they must report it promptly. Individuals are encouraged to send a screenshot of the message to report@phishing.gov.uk and to energy.bills.rebate@beis.gov.uk
