Running a business in its early years means juggling a lot at once. From growth plans and staffing decisions to regulatory responsibilities and the day-to-day realities of keeping things moving. When guidance isn’t clear or easy to act on, the cost isn’t just time; it can affect confidence, planning, and opportunities you don’t want to miss.
That’s why researchers at the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) are inviting business leaders across Greater Lincolnshire to take part in a short research study. Your experience (what works, what doesn’t, and what slows you down), will directly shape how government guidance is designed and delivered for businesses like yours.
They’re especially keen to hear from people who have started running a business within the last 1–2 years, as well as organisations with 10 or more employees, including medium-sized businesses with 49+ employees. Whether you’ve been navigating regulatory information for compliance, planning, or general guidance, your insights are particularly valuable. Even small improvements in clarity at this stage can make a meaningful difference for thousands of future business owners across the region.
What’s involved?
You’ll join a 60-minute remote research session at a time that suits you. Sessions are conversational, focused on your real experiences, and participants selected for the study will be compensated for their time. Taking part is simple, just complete a short form to register your interest here.
Why take part?
Your practical experience gives you a direct voice in shaping the tools and information that businesses rely on. Many leaders look back wishing essential guidance had been easier to navigate sooner. This is your opportunity to make sure the next wave of businesses doesn’t face the same hurdles.
If you or someone in your network fits this profile, please share this with them. Improving support for businesses in Greater Lincolnshire starts with hearing from the people who understand the reality best.
