Milestones and Achievements: Building Momentum for SMEs in 2025–26

19 May 2026

As we move through spring and further into the new financial year, it’s a good time to pause and reflect on what has recently been achieved and, importantly, how this progress is helping SME and micro‑businesses across Greater Lincolnshire move forward with confidence. Over the past year, local businesses have built momentum, strengthened resilience, and moved forward with greater confidence as a result of our targeted support.

Supporting SME Growth Across Greater Lincolnshire

Business success is rarely instant. For most SMEs and micro‑businesses, growth has been achieved incrementally through expert guidance, practical tools, and clearly structured action planning.

Throughout the past year, Business Lincolnshire supported 2,766 organisations, delivering 8,209 hours of tailored business support. This activity enabled business owners to address key challenges, including:

  • Skills development
  • Strategic and sustainable growth planning
  • Innovation and digital adoption

Through flagship programmes such as the Start Up Academy and the AI Adoption Accelerator, businesses across manufacturing, agriculture, retail, and the social economy benefited from support designed to meet real‑world challenges and sector‑specific needs.

The impact was reflected in strong feedback, with 89% of supported businesses saying they would recommend the Business Lincolnshire Growth Hub. In addition, 87% reported satisfaction with the service received, 72% highlighting improvements in decision‑making, confidence and long‑term resilience.

From Business Advice to Real Action

A key strength of the Growth Hub’s support over the past year was its focus on turning ambition into action. Many SME and micro‑businesses knew what they wanted to improve but needed clarity on where to start and how to prioritise.

Through one‑to‑one fully funded adviser support, businesses were helped to clarify priorities, reduce complexity and take practical, confident next steps.

This structured approach supported SMEs in maintaining momentum and making measurable progress rather than delaying decisions or spreading resources too thinly.

Reducing Barriers for SMEs

Time constraints and administrative complexity continued to be significant challenges for small business owners over the past year. In response, Business Lincolnshire focused on removing unnecessary barriers by simplifying access to support, improving signposting to relevant programmes and introducing more flexible delivery options.

This approach ensured that businesses could engage with support in a way that fitted around the practical demands of running a company.

Looking Ahead: Building Momentum into 2026

These milestones are not the end. They mark growing confidence among businesses to seek advice, explore opportunities, and plan for the future.

Business Lincolnshire remains committed to delivering practical, accessible and impactful support, helping local businesses build on progress made and turn short‑term gains into long‑term success.
