The Business Lincolnshire Manufacturing Academy launches to support the future of manufacturing across Greater Lincolnshire

12 June 2026

Manufacturing businesses across Greater Lincolnshire are facing growing pressure to do more with less while also keeping pace with changing technology, rising customer expectations and increasing competition.

For many businesses, the challenge is not ambition. It is finding the time, support and practical guidance to move forward confidently.

That is why Business Lincolnshire has launched the Manufacturing Academy, bringing together a wide range of fully funded support designed specifically for manufacturing and engineering businesses across the region.

The academy has been created to help manufacturers strengthen productivity, explore innovation, embrace digital change and unlock long term growth through practical support that works in the real world.

Practical support for manufacturers

Alongside the academy, businesses can also access the Manufacturing Accelerator, designed to help ambitious manufacturers identify opportunities, overcome barriers and accelerate growth with tailored support and expert guidance.

Whether the focus is improving operations, increasing productivity, planning investment or identifying new opportunities, the accelerator helps businesses take practical steps forward with greater clarity and confidence.

As part of the accelerator, businesses can also take part in Manufacturing Mastery, a series of practical one day events focused on helping manufacturers step away from the day to day and focus on improving performance, productivity and future growth.

The first event takes place on 2 June from 8.30am to 4.30pm at Nelipak in North Lincolnshire with further events planned for 7 July, 8 September and 7 October. All sessions run from 8.30am to 4.30pm, with venues to be confirmed.

For more information or to register your interest, businesses can get in touch via Business Lincolnshire Contact Page.

Expert guidance and growth support

Manufacturing businesses can also access fully funded one to one support from Manufacturing Specialist Adviser Trevor Durant, who works directly with businesses to identify opportunities for improvement, explore innovation and create practical plans for growth. Whether businesses are looking to improve operational efficiency, strengthen resilience, explore automation or plan for future investment, support is tailored to the needs of each individual business.

Trevor also delivers Manufacturing Growth Sprints, helping businesses tackle specific challenges and opportunities through focused support designed to move businesses quickly from ideas into action. Often the biggest improvements come from small changes that free up time, improve productivity and create stronger long term performance.

Alongside this, manufacturers can access the Practical AI for Manufacturing webinar series, a four part programme exploring how AI can be used in practical and commercially valuable ways across manufacturing operations, communication, productivity and decision making. While many businesses are still unsure where AI fits into manufacturing, others are already using it to save time, improve efficiency and strengthen competitiveness. The businesses exploring these opportunities now are likely to have a significant advantage over the next few years.

Building stronger manufacturing connections

Businesses can also connect with others across the sector through the Greater Lincolnshire Engineering and Manufacturing Network (GLEAM), which brings together manufacturers and engineering businesses from across the region to collaborate, share insight and build valuable connections.

Additional support is also available through Made Smarter East Midlands, helping manufacturers explore digital adoption, innovation and new technologies in manageable and practical ways.

The Made in Lincolnshire brochure also highlights the strength, innovation and expertise already driving the manufacturing and engineering sector across Greater Lincolnshire, showcasing businesses that are helping shape the future of the region’s economy.

Building stronger manufacturing businesses for the future

Manufacturing businesses across Greater Lincolnshire are operating in a period of huge change, but also huge opportunity.

The businesses that will thrive over the next few years are unlikely to be the ones trying to do everything alone. They will be the ones willing to adapt, explore new ideas and invest time in working smarter, improving productivity and building resilience for the future.

That is exactly what the Manufacturing Academy has been designed to support.

From practical workshops and specialist advice through to growth programmes, AI support and industry collaboration, the academy brings together the tools, expertise and connections businesses need to move forward with greater confidence.

For many manufacturers, one conversation, one new idea or one operational improvement can completely change the direction of the business.
