Finding your people in Greater Lincolnshire’s growing digital community

14 October 2026

Women in tech

A strong digital sector needs more than technology. It needs people who can find each other, share what they know and create opportunities together.

That is something Lincoln Women in Tech has been building over the past year. Through regular events, workshops and informal meet-ups, the community brings together women working in and around technology, alongside those who are curious about the sector or looking to build their skills and connections.

For Stephanie Robinson, being part of Lincoln’s tech community has been about exactly that. It has helped her meet people, find support and turn ideas into action. Support from Business Lincolnshire has also helped strengthen those connections, with Digital & Technology Specialist Adviser David Regler helping Stephanie connect with others across the local digital community and supporting opportunities for people and organisations to come together.

“There are so many people in Lincoln who are connected, and everyone is really supportive of each other.”

It’s a simple point, but an important one. Professional communities give people somewhere to ask questions, learn from others and make connections that might not happen through their day-to-day work.

You don’t need to fit a particular definition of what it means to ‘work in tech’ to get involved either. Lincoln Women in Tech events have ranged from speaker sessions and networking to practical workshops. In August, for example, the group ran a hands-on AI workshop and collaborative ‘vibe coding’ challenge. It gave people the chance to experiment and learn, regardless of their technical background.

The group is part of a much wider digital community developing across Greater Lincolnshire. Technology is increasingly shaping businesses across all sectors, which means the skills, ideas and conversations happening within communities like this have relevance far beyond traditional technology businesses. For local businesses, Lincoln Women in Tech offers another way to tap into that community. You might want to meet potential collaborators, support someone in your team to develop their network, discover new ideas or simply understand more about what is happening locally. Sometimes, getting involved can be as simple as turning up to a conversation.

Through its digital and technology support, Business Lincolnshire also helps businesses across the region access advice, build connections and explore opportunities to make better use of digital tools and technologies.
