BridgeAI Deployment Catalyst: AI for Operational Systems is part of the wider BridgeAI programme delivered by Innovate UK. The programme aims to accelerate the adoption of advanced UK-developed artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions by helping businesses move beyond pilot projects into trusted real-world deployment.
This competition specifically supports AI systems whose primary purpose is to perform, control or coordinate operational activity within business workflows, software, equipment, infrastructure or operational processes. Projects must address significant deployment challenges and demonstrate clear benefits to the participating deployer organisation.
Applications must be led by a UK-registered SME with an AI or ML solution at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5 or 6 and a functioning minimum viable product. Projects must include at least one eligible UK-based deployer organisation that can provide access to operational environments, systems, data, users or processes needed to test deployment readiness. Consortiums must contain at least two organisations and no more than three.
Projects can request between £100,000 and £200,000 in grant funding, must run for three to five months, start by 1 April 2027 and finish by 31 August 2027. Successful projects may have the opportunity to progress into future BridgeAI programme phases focused on deployment preparation and large-scale deployment.
Applications are submitted through the Innovate UK Innovation Funding Service.
