Event Information

New technologies are starting to have an impact on visual arts, but getting started can feel expensive, technical and out of reach.

This hands-on introduction removes the barriers.

In just 90 minutes, you’ll:

  • Explore professional VR equipment
  • See how VR can enhance and expand your artistic practice.
  • Try it for yourself in a support, no-pressure environment
  • Learn how to access the kit after the session included within a Barbican membership
  • Opportunity to try out co-working for free afterwards for those who haven’t.
  • No jargon. No prior experience. Just a practical first step into how it could expand or support your existing practice.

Come curious and leave a little more confident.

Free workshop (limited capacity). Booking essential.

Supported by Contemporary Visual Arts Network East Midlands & West Midlands as part of Ode to the Midlands. The programme invests in artists, organisations, and audiences across the Midlands, strengthening regional connections and expanding access to digital visual arts. Ode to the Midlands is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

The Barbican Creative Hub is opposite Lincoln Train Station, 5-minute walk from Lincoln Central and Lincoln NCP High Street car parks. The Barbican has step free access if required.
