Common Ground Award 2026-2027

The Common Ground Award 2026-2027 is a competitive capital grant programme from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. The fund supports voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations across England whose core purpose is building social connections between people from different backgrounds and strengthening community cohesion and resilience.

Funding can be used for the construction, renovation or improvement of community facilities and spaces, as well as the purchase of equipment that enables organisations to deliver activities that encourage social mixing, reduce prejudice and discrimination, or address tensions between communities.

Eligible applicants must be based and operating in England, have charitable, benevolent or philanthropic purposes, and report annual income or turnover below £5 million. Applications may be submitted by individual organisations or eligible consortiums. Local authorities, public sector organisations, schools, universities, individuals and profit-distributing organisations are not eligible to apply.

Individual organisations can apply for grants between £20,000 and £50,000, with exceptional cases considered for up to £100,000. Consortium applications can request between £100,000 and £250,000. Applications must be submitted through the official online application portal by 12 October 2026.
