Hospitality Support Fund
The Hospitality Support Fund (HSF) provides grant funding to support interventions that address recognised structural challenges facing the UK hospitality sector and deliver clear, evidenced public benefit.
The hospitality sector plays a critical role in the UK’s everyday economy. It supports local employment – particularly for young people and those re‑entering the labour market, anchors town centres and high streets, and provides regulated, socially valuable community spaces that contribute to health, wellbeing and social cohesion. But the sector faces persistent structural pressures, including constrained margins, rising costs, limited access to capital and uneven capacity to invest in diversification skills and sustainability. The Fund is designed to address specific, evidenced gaps where targeted grant support can unlock activity that would not otherwise proceed.
Round 1 of the Hospitality Support Fund is intended to support delivery‑ready projects that can mobilise quickly and contribute to effective spend within the 2026–27 financial year.
Applicants should therefore only apply where proposals are sufficiently developed, with clear delivery plans, realistic milestones, and a credible ability to begin funded activity shortly after grant award.
The Round 1 application window will open on 01/09/2026 for 6 weeks, and close on 13/10/2026.
Applications for round 1 will not be accepted after this date. Expressions of interest for future funding rounds can be sent to HospitalitySupportFund@businessandtrade.gov.uk
The scheme aims to fund projects that support businesses, for example by helping them to diversify or become more efficient, or that help to improve the business environment, for example by tackling skills shortages. Successful projects will therefore need to do one or more of the following:
• open up jobs and skills, and help people into work in hospitality;
• help hospitality businesses stay viable and adapt to change;
• strengthen the role of hospitality on high streets and in communities;
• support the evening and night-time economy;
• improve productivity and sustainability; and
• help new hospitality businesses get started and grow.
