Public Engagement Spark Awards 2026B (Grant)
The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), is offering funding through the Public Engagement Spark Awards 2026B to support innovative public engagement activities connected to STFC-funded science, technology and research.
The programme is open to a wide range of UK-based organisations, including universities, museums, science communicators, community groups, libraries, amateur astronomy groups, community interest companies and researchers working within the STFC remit. All applicants must belong to an organisation that produces accountant-certified annual accounts and every project must include an appropriate STFC subject matter expert (SME).
Projects should deliver high-quality public engagement activities that introduce STFC-supported science to new audiences, promote STEM subjects, support co-production with audiences and contribute to the objectives of the STFC Public Engagement Strategy. Novel approaches are encouraged, although established engagement methods are also eligible.
Projects can last between 12 and 36 months and must begin between 1 June and 1 September 2027. Funding is available for projects with a full economic cost of up to £20,000, with STFC covering 100% of eligible costs. Applications must be submitted through the UKRI Funding Service before the published deadline.
